"School governors are people who want to make a positive contribution to children’s education. Governors are the largest volunteer force in the country and have an important part to play in raising school standards through their three key roles of setting strategic direction, ensuring accountability and monitoring and evaluating school performance."

Most school issues are best addressed to class teachers, Head of Key Stage or the Headteacher, but if there is something you'd like to tell us please send an email using the address below.

The governors meet regularly through the year and we will aim to discuss anything you raise at our next scheduled meeting. If you require a formal, written response to your issue, please write a letter to the Chair of Governors via the School Office.

St Wilfrid’s CE Primary School - Governors Register of Interests 2017-2018

Governing bodies and school staff have a responsibility to avoid any conflict between their business and personal interests and the affairs and interest of the school.

Each year governors complete a declaration of any interest that they, their partner or any relative might have in a business with which the school is likely to do business. They also undertake that in the event of them, their partner, or any relative, or other person known to them acquiring an interest in a business with which the school is likely to do business then they will declare this as soon as they become aware of it.

Sometimes it is not always clear in advance and we have the opportunity at each meeting for a declaration of interest to be made which would be recorded in the minutes.
