Year 6 - IOW 2023

Day 1 - IOW 2023

What a great first day!
After a smooth ferry crossing, we carried out a walk along the coast at Ventnor. We spent some time looking at the measures they have taken to defend the coastline before having lunch on the beach.
After playing some games, we headed to our accommodation and got settled in our rooms. We then had some time on the beach here in Shanklin before returning for a delicious dinner of fish, chips, and pizza.
Finally, we played some games outside the hotel before settling down for a good night's sleep.
We are looking forward to our day of water sports with Tackt-Isle.
Day 2 - IOW 2023
What another brilliant day! After a good night's sleep, we started the day with some games on the grass. We then had a plentiful and delicious breakfast to set us up for a day of water sports. The whole day was spent in the sea doing kayaking, raft building, paddle boarding and jumping in the water! All that water left us feeling very hungry so we headed back for a delicious roast chicken dinner. We are now looking forward to movie night and the beach to finish off another fab day.
Day 3 - IOW 2023
We started the day with a delicious cooked breakfast before Mr Hateley turned up to join us for the day. Once we were ready, we headed down to the beach for some games before heading to Shanklin theatre to take part in a workshop. We all got to get up on stage and do some dancing, singing, and acting. It was also very interesting to hear how they use lighting and different sound effects as well as having a tour backstage. After, we returned to the hotel to do some work in our booklets before having a scrumptious BBQ dinner. Finally, we went back to the theatre to watch a show. It was set in Roman times and was great fun to join in the singing and dancing. Today we are looking forward to a boat trip round the Needles, some souvenir shopping and a disco!

Day 4 - IOW 2023
Today was our last full day on the island.
We were delighted to have pancakes to start the day before playing some games outside.
We then travelled to Alum Bay and did some art on the beach before taking a boat trip round the Needles. It was great to get so up close to them and find out how they formed and what goes on in the lighthouse.
After lunch overlooking the bay, we headed back to the hotel for some more games.
We then had a delicious lasagne for dinner before heading to the hall for a disco. It was brilliant to be able to sign off the week with some singing and dancing.
Tomorrow we are heading to the beach before making our way home
