Our Remote learning

In the event your child has to self-isolate, the links to tasks for each day are set out in the overview below. 

Alongside this, for all years we will be utilising the Microsoft Teams application to support the home learning in different ways. (See Teams Guide below) Every child has a Microsoft login and this allows children to have access to the home learning and submit learning.

If a child does not have access to a computer/laptop and/or the internet, the school will do all it can to support children and will provide paper packs of learning at the earliest possible time following the instruction to isolate. Where funding can be accessed, remote devices (e.g. laptops) and/or 4G connections will be sought, particularly for disadvantaged children. Parents and Carers will be reminded to make the school aware of any barriers to accessing remote learning.

You will find below an overview of lessons to be completed each day. If your class or year group or the whole school has to close then click on your Year Group tab and you will see any specific expectations set by your class teacher.

The aim is to provide learning across the curriculum and children will be expected to spend a similar amount of ‘learning’ time completing this as they would spend learning in school.

The Overview

EY’s / KS1 & KS2

The daily timetable will include:

• The ‘Start to the day’ -  Sit down with your child and plan the timetable for the day.
• Maths – White Rose Maths
• Reading – Using the Oxford Owl on line reading scheme
• Writing – Using Oak National Academy Resources. Each day Oak National Academy publishes daily lessons in writing.
• Spelling/Phonics – Spelling Shed
• Two foundation subjects - Using the Oak National Academy
• The ‘Feedback’ – Children, supported by their Parents and Carers, feedback to the teacher via email what they have achieved each day. Any learning completed can be sent in via email or uploaded to TEAMs or saved for when they return to school.

Submitting Learning and Providing Feedback

Pupils can send any completed work to teachers via their class email address in the form of saved documents, photos and even videos. For those year groups who already use TEAMs regularly for home learning, then work can be submitted through this as well.

Alternatively, work that children complete on paper should be kept safe and returned to school when safe to do so.

Teachers will provide feedback via email throughout the period of self isolation, however, for various reasons this will sometimes not be possible daily. 

Contact with Pupils and Parents

Parents and Carers are able to contact the school via telephone or the year group email address (Please remember if a whole class or year group is isolating then the staff will be as well and will only be contactable by email). Teachers will respond to emails between 8am and 8.30am, and between 3.30pm and 4pm. Any response will aim to be made within 24 hours.

If possible, contact will be made via telephone (by a member of the staff team) at least once, over the period of isolation, to monitor learning and provide support if needed.

Pupils identified as vulnerable will be contacted by the school on a weekly basis and support offered as necessary.

If the child’s absence is not part of a whole group isolating due to Covid-19 but for other Covid-19 related circumstances then your class teacher will contact you by phone within the first 48hrs of absence but the learning tasks are the same.

Data Protection and privacy

When accessing personal data, all staff members will: Only use their official school email account.

Anybody accessing live content must not in any circumstances record any part or all parts of the live streaming session. The school is the data controller for the live streaming session and does not consent to anyone taking a recording of it either audio or video. No person taking part has given consent to any recording and there is no legal right to take a recording. If it is discovered that a person has not complied with these requirements the police will be notified.

We appreciate your understanding that we are all responsible for the well-being of our children and their privacy and we trust that you will not act in a way which would be considered a misuse of the private information of others.

Sharing Personal Data

Staff members are unlikely to need to collect and/or share personal data. However, if it does become necessary, staff are reminded to collect and/or share as little personal data as possible online. All data collection will be compliant with GDPR guidelines.

Monitoring Arrangements

This plan will be reviewed by the SLT as and when updates to home learning are provided by the government.
